SHIHAN THERON FEIDT - 7th DEGREE BLACK BELT - MASTER INSTRUCTOR

Shihan Feidt has been training in the Martial Arts since 1982. He has achieved the rank of 7th degree black belt. His whole family is involved in the dojo. His wife is a 4th Degree Elite Force Leader, his daughter is very involved with all the activities, and his son is a 2nd Degree Black Belt.

 

Shihan Feidt has many outstanding accomplishments. He completed the Anthony Robbins Unleash The Power Within Event, an intensive 4 day training session covering leadership, health, motivation, energy and much more. The 4 days include The Fire Walk Experience, where Shihan walked across 25 yards of hot coals. He also Co-founded Achieve Results NOW!, a podcast, coaching and consulting company, founded in 2016.

 

Shihan is also 1 of the original 3 to become part of the Masters' Council in Central New York. He is also very diverse in his Martial Arts training, he’s a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, certified Level Two Instructor in Kali, has extensive training in Muay Thai, Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do, Krav Maga, Boxing, and Vale Tu Do.

 

Shihan is also very involved in the community. Through the years our dojo has raised money, food, and supplies for people in need in our local community. In the past, our dojo participated with the Make-a-Wish foundation, America Heart Association Heart Walks, Relay For Life, as well as the Salvation Army Holiday Drive.

Sensei Dave Baker is a 5th Degree Black Belt and started his trained since 1994.

What's your favorite Martial Arts discipline? Krav Maga, Sparring and Arnis

What are your future aspirations? Build the Krav Maga program along with our Martial Arts program so it's the premier place to go for self defense.

 

What was your favorite training moment? Training with my friends and family and achieving goals with them.

 

What is your favorite weapon? Nunchaku

 

What other sports or activities do you do? Family is a big part of my life, being outdoors, video gaming.

What did achieving 1st degree Black Belt mean to you? It was a goal I always wanted to achieve. It gave me a feeling of accomplishment, and made me start on a healthy fulfilling lifestyle.

What is your favorite quote? ” That which is most essential, is invisible to the eye."

 

Any additional information you want to share?  My family participated in the martial arts, my wife achieving her second degree and both of my kids got their high-red belts. Families that kick together, stick together!

Master Jim McGarvey is a 5th Degree Black Belt and started his training in 1988.

What's your favorite Martial Arts discipline? I think what makes our system so great is being able to train in many styles. I love the traditional style of Kenpo, the intensity and effectiveness of Krav Maga, the flow of Jiu Jitsu, while Arnis is another one of my favorites for its weapons handling.

 

What are your future aspirations? Continue to train and develop my skills along with helping students grow and accomplish their goals as well. I have a passion for the Martial Arts lifestyle and would like to make it even more a part of my life - both personally and professionally.

 

What was your favorite training moment? There are many. I would say one of my favorites happened recently when my wife Leslie and I were able to perform on stage together during my 4th Degree Black Belt Graduation.

 

What is your favorite weapon? Currently Kamas, but Bo and Sword are a close second.

 

What other sports or activities do you do? Running, working out, SCUBA diving, boating, travel, hiking, concerts, video games, music, and more!

 

What did achieving 1st degree Black Belt mean to you? It not only gave me a huge boost in confidence and feeling of accomplishment it fired me up to continue my training, set new goals, and push for higher levels of excellence.

 

What is your favorite quote? I have many, but one that I really like that is very true and adds in some humor is “People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.” - Zig Ziglar

 

Any additional information you want to share? Like so many who live the Martial Arts lifestyle I am thankful for the training I receive, the people I can help because of my training, the lifelong friendships I have developed, and the positive impacts it has had on my life both mentally and physically.

Deshi Mark Cardone is a 5th Degree Black Belt and started his training in 1986.

What are your future aspirations? To continue to use the leadership and life management tools I learned through martial arts training to have a positive impact on people in their personal and professional lives. 

 

What was your favorite training moment? Every moment! 

 

What is your favorite weapon? Chucks

 

What other sports or activities do you do? I love spending time being active with my two daughters. I am active in the Liverpool School District PTO, I serve on the board for Edge Federal Credit Union, own a commercial real estate company, and co-own a personal results company called Achieve Results NOW!

 

What did achieving 1st degree Black Belt mean to you? The only thing I remember thinking when I received my 1st degree black belt was “Oh Boy!  Now I am going to learn some super cool stuff.”  It really signified taking a step into a leadership role.

Sensei Donalea Maloney is a 5th Degree Black Belt and started her training in 2006.

What's your favorite Martial Arts discipline? I really don't have a favorite, what I love is that we get to train on everything because we have a blended system.  I do however love sparring, hitting targets and anything to do with self defense.  

What are your future aspirations?   I love to be able to continue to help our students obtain their goals that they have set for themselves in the martial arts.  Whether that be earning a new belt or stepping into the ring.  I look forward to continuing to work with the instructor team and Shihan Feidt. 

What was your favorite training moment?  I have lots!  Some involve me, most involve our students obtaining a goal they set for themselves.  For me - earning my 4th degree Black Belt, my daughter Jordyn earning her 4th degree Black Belt after graduating from Syracuse University and winning the 2014 WKA Lightweight North American Tournament Champion Belt.  Really the best moment ever is having made lifelong friends from training at the dojo. 

 

What is your favorite weapon?  Chuks

 

What other sports or activities do you do?  Playing golf, pickleball, traveling, scrapbooking - I love photos 

 

What did achieving 1st degree Black Belt mean to you? It was a huge sense of accomplishment, I was very proud to have set a goal and achieved that goal in 3 years, it was just the beginning of a whole new world for me as an adult and realizing my potential in the fitness world and being able to help motivate others to achieve their goals.

What is your favorite quote?  "Live every moment, Laugh every day & Love beyond words."

 I am thankful that martial arts came into my and Jordyn’s life. Martial Arts has helped us both become better athletes and people. We have made lifelong friends at the dojo and I would not want to be anywhere else.

What are your future aspirations? Getting my Black Belt in Krav Maga and continue to grow in the martial arts as a student and instructor.

 

What was your favorite training moment?  When I broke my first brick in the martial arts.

What is your favorite weapon? Sword

 

What other sports or activities do you do? I enjoy riding motorcycles and going to car shows.

 

What did achieving 1st degree Black Belt mean to you?  It was a very proud moment for me. It proved to me that I can accomplish anything when I work hard enough.

Guro Koch is one of our Krav Maga Instructor and is a certified 2nd Degree Black Belt from Krav Maga Alliance and a Level 2 Instructor.

Ms.  Maura Lisson is a 4th Degree Black Belt and started her training in 1997.

What's your favorite Martial Arts Discipline? Kenpo

What are your future aspirations? In the dojo, continue to constantly train, keep learning new things and continue growing as an instructor.

What is your favorite training moment? There are a lot of favorite moments. I think for one being able to meet and train with amazing people as well as breaking through my 1st Degree board.

What is your favorite weapon? Kamas

What other sports or activities do you do? I am an adjunct professor at SU and a freelancer. I also like to practice hand lettering and spend time with my family and friends.

What did achieving 1st degree Black Belt mean to you? Achieving 1st Degree showed me how to persevere and never give up when things get hard. It was probably the first big goal I set and achieved when I was younger. It taught me so much that continues both on and off the mats.

What is your favorite quote? "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them."

My Mom trains in the Black Belt in our Krav Maga Program and involved in our KickFIT program. My sister also trained and achieved her 2nd Degree Black Belt.

Ms.  Adriana Smith is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and started her training in 2012.

What's your favorite Martial Arts Discipline? Karate and Jiu-Jitsu

What are your future aspirations? I want to be a great instructor, then I plan to go to college for Interior Design.

What is your favorite training moment? My favorite training moment was being in cycle for my Black Belt and achieving it with my friends.

What is your favorite weapon? Chuks

What other sports or activities do you do? I used to do dance, swim, girl scouts, act, model and play soccer.

What did achieving 1st degree Black Belt mean to you? Achieving my Black Belt helped me learn not to give up when things get hard. It meant a lot to me and showed me I can do a lot if I put in the effort.

What is your favorite quote? "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it."

I started as a  Little Dragon and have wanted to become an Instructor since I was very young. I love working with the students!

My Mom trains in the program. My sister also trains and is a  Black Belt.

Mr. Devin Botsford is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and started his training in 2011.

What are your future aspirations? I want to be the best instructor I can be.

What is your favorite training moment? My favorite training moment was when I finally got my run time under 16 minutes. I felt awesome afterwards!

What is your favorite weapon? Sword

What other sports or activities do you do? Just Martial Arts.

What did achieving 1st degree Black Belt mean to you? Reaching 1st degree Black Belt meant that I had finally achieved my goal! It also meant all of my hard work paid off.

Sensei Koch is a 5th Degree Black Belt under Shihan Theron Feidt and started his training in 1992.
Sensei Koch is our Lead Krav Maga Instructor, a Krav Maga Alliance 2nd Degree Black Belt and is a certified Level 2 Instructor with Krav Maga Alliance.

Sensei Koch is the first and ONLY Krav Maga Alliance Black Belt in upstate New York. He is also a Blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has recently completed 2 Muay Thai fights, both over the age of 50!

Sensei David Baker

Sensei Baker is a 5th Degree Black Belt under Shihan Theron Feidt and started his training in 1994.
Sensei Baker is a certified Krav Maga Alliance  Instructor and has over 25 years of teaching experience.

Sensei Baker is trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kali, Muay Thai, American Kickboxing, Kenpo and many more. He has a passion for martial arts, a passion for teaching and a dedication for making his students better martial artists.

Sensei Maloney is a 5th Degree Black Belt under Shihan Theron Feidt and started her training in 2006. 

Sensei Maloney is our Lead Fitness Coach for our KickFIT program, Fight Training program, and for our students in training for their Black Belts. She is also our lead Fight Trainer with 9 fights in the ring herself, and training countless others for their turn in the ring. Earning the title of North American World Kickboxing Association Lightweight Tournament Champion in 2014, Sensei DL has since retired from fighting, however she is very active with her own training and the training of others.
